It is possible to bind users to monitor only a subset of devices (or entities)

Devices and entities contains pre-defined tags that are the following:

1. Site
2. Network
3. Any “Device_Custom” parameter (if enabled. See how to enable custom parameters)
4. Filter Tags into Device Parameters (if blank no filter is applied)

Consider to bind a user to have access only to “rome” devices:

In this case the default tags are Site (Rome) and Network (Scaiconnect), so to force a user to see only devices in Rome, insert the tag “rome” into the user “Tag Filter” field as shown:

Consider to bind a user to have access only to the first AP.

1. Add the value “filter1” into Filter Tags of the device

2. Create a user to have “filter1” in Tag Filter filed

Filters have effect on: Graphs and Search, Alarms, Dashboards and Logs. They do not have effect on maps, that means map administrator can create an access-list to permit test-user to have access to a map containing devices not filtered.
