Each device is automatically recognized by Ne.Mo. and is monitored by collecting all the key statistics of the device itself. There are various templates in order to improve control of the information to insert into the database.

Ne.Mo. recognize most of the devices of the major vendors: Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, Brocade, Enterasys, Netscreen, F5, Redback, H3C, BlueCoat, HP, Linux, Windows, .. For everything that is not recognized, you can activate the custom measurements through the use of SNMP.

During data acquisition, if abnormal conditions are detected on the measures collected, are automatically generated alarms displayed on the Touch. On every measure you can also configure alarms through a mechanism based on thresholds and send email or SMS (you must have an SMS gateway) to users and / or groups. These thresholds may refer to absolute values ​​or values ​​related to the average of the previous samples.

Ne.Mo. has an embedded syslog and trap receiver. Through a simple configuration based on rules you can filter the messages that arrive and decide whether to discard them, generate alarms or simply count statistical purposes only.

Inside Ne.Mo. you can define users and groups and create associations between them. All the functionality of Ne.Mo. then can be enabled / disabled based on user or group through a mechanism of ACL (Access Control List). Any information can be monitored also tagged: use these tags can be created a custom view of the entire database for each user or group.

Ne.Mo. was developed using server-side scripting (PHP) associated with HTML5/CSS3 and Javascript and does not require any additional plug-in on your browser (no java, no flash). In addition, all devices monitored by Ne.Mo. are queried directly and there is no need to install agent on remote machines. All software components used by Ne.Mo. are Open Source and therefore additional licenses are not needed.

All information monitored by Ne.Mo. can be organized into 'favorites' by each user in a similar way to the bookmarks of any browser. Through a simple drag & drop you can organize, view, delete, add bookmarks any charts. Ne.Mo. also provides a search engine that allows you in an while to find the required information without having to navigate long and complex menu.

Through Ne.Mo. is possible to construct logical maps not only to represent the topology (Layer2 or Layer3) of the network, but also any other information monitored by Ne.Mo. (eg, CPU load or memory used). Inside the map data can be represented by labels, graphics, gauge and links. It's also possible to activate a color coding of the elements in order to reflect the percentage of data within a ​​configurable range of values.

Periodically are taken configurations of devices and are made a comparison with the previous one: if changes are found, the new configuration is stored in the DB with a major revision number, and it's possible to generate an alarm. To keep track of the activities of change carried out on the devices you can also enter a description of each new configuration. Users can also make a comparison between any two version.

Specifically designed for sizing ans capacity planning issues of the access switches. Ne.Mo. periodically monitors the number of Ethernet ports available on each device: total, used, unused and recently used. This information can then be logged and plotted like any other measure and aggregated to get global information on certain areas of the network (eg an entire site or a specific data center).

Through Ne.Mo. you can create newspapers within users can submit any charts and carry out the publication on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly). All users who wish to receive a particular newspaper can simply subscribe to the appropriate section dedicated to them.

Where possible according to the type of device, Ne.Mo. automatically captures the complete inventory of network devices including serial number and part number. On modular equipment are acquired information of each part (FRU - Field Replacement Units): chassis, fans, cards, modules, connectors, etc...

For each device Ne.Mo. collect information about the IP addresses used and the related network in order to automatically create a complete IP address plan. During the acquisition process all anomalies detected will be reported (duplicate IP address, overlapped networks, etc. ..). It is also possible to statically assign the IP address or network.
